Sen. Collins Statement on House Passage of Continuing Resolution

09.01.26

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Chair of the Appropriations Committee, released the following statement on the House’s passage of the continuing resolution (CR):

“Today, the House passed the Continuing Resolution (CR) that, as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I worked to craft with members of both chambers on both sides of the aisle. This stopgap funding measure will prevent a harmful government shutdown.

“It also halts the implementation of the Office of Management and Budget’s proposed rule, which would politicize the grant process.

“I hope this CR will quickly be signed into law and we can return to the crucial work of passing bipartisan appropriations bills.”
