FLORIDA, FL, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Candy Digital’s third 2026 MLB Gold Series ICONs release, Rookies, concluded today on candy.io, with all 36 packs claimed in 24 minutes for a total of $25,700 by 12 lucky collectors. The first pack was claimed at $900 and the last at $600.Rookies featured six of baseball’s most exciting young players: Munetaka Murakami, Kevin McGonigle, JJ Wetherholt, Samuel Basallo, Konnor Griffin and Nolan McLean, with Wetherholt, Basallo, Griffin and McLean each making their Candy ICON debut as First Mints. Each player has just 36 Gold Series editions in existence: (25) Rare ICONs numbered to /25, (10) Epic ICONs numbered to /10, and a single 1-of-1 Legendary. Every pack contained six Gold Series ICONs with at least one Epic, and a 1-in-6 chance of a Legendary. Select packs carried a seventh bonus ICON: either a Munetaka Murakami Pixicon Insert /5 or a Konnor Griffin Momenticon Insert /5.

THE CANDY DIGITAL REVERSE AUCTION
Rookies was sold through the Candy Digital Reverse Auction, a descending-price format in which the price opens high and steps down $100 every 60 seconds while packs remain. Collectors can claim a pack at the displayed price at any point, and every participant sees the same price, the same pack count and the same countdown at the same time. Bidding for Rookies opened at $2,000, with the first pack claimed at $900 and the last at $600.
